Are plain vitrified tiles suitable for outdoor terraces in India?

Yes, plain vitrified tiles are a popular choice for terraces in India. They are dense, low in water absorption, and resistant to harsh weather conditions like heavy rain and intense sunlight. For outdoor terraces, it is recommended to choose anti-skid or textured variants of vitrified tiles to ensure safety during monsoons and wet conditions.

What size of plain vitrified tiles is best for a terrace?

For terraces, larger tile sizes like 600x600mm or 800x800mm are commonly preferred as they give a spacious and clean look with fewer grout lines. However, if your terrace has irregular corners or slopes for water drainage, medium sizes like 400x400mm can be easier to install and manage. Always consult your contractor about the right size based on your terrace layout.

How do I maintain plain vitrified tiles on my terrace?

Maintaining plain vitrified tiles on a terrace is very simple. Regularly sweep away dust and debris, and mop with a mild detergent solution to keep them looking clean. Avoid using harsh acids or abrasive scrubbers as they can dull the surface. During monsoon season, ensure proper drainage so water does not stagnate on the tile surface. With basic care, vitrified tiles can last for many years without losing their finish.
