Are matt subway tiles a good choice for Indian kitchens?

Yes, matt subway tiles are an excellent choice for Indian kitchens. Their non-reflective surface hides grease splatters, water spots, and fingerprints much better than glossy tiles, making them ideal for the heavy cooking done in most Indian homes. They are also easy to wipe clean and give your kitchen a modern, sophisticated look.

What size matt subway tile works best for a kitchen backsplash in India?

The most popular size for kitchen backsplashes in Indian homes is the classic 75x150mm (3x6 inch) subway tile. However, larger formats like 100x300mm or 100x200mm are trending and can make smaller Indian kitchens appear bigger and more spacious. Choose a size based on your wall area and the overall design style you want to achieve.

How do I maintain and clean matt subway tiles in my kitchen?

Matt subway tiles are low maintenance and easy to clean. For everyday cleaning, simply wipe the surface with a damp cloth or mild soap solution. For tougher grease stains common in Indian kitchens, use a gentle non-abrasive cleaner or a mixture of baking soda and water. Avoid harsh acidic cleaners as they can damage the matt finish. Sealing the grout lines every year also helps keep them stain-free and hygienic.
