Are wood look floor tiles suitable for a high-footfall cafe or restaurant in India?

Yes, wood look floor tiles are an excellent choice for cafes and restaurants in India. Unlike real wood, these tiles are highly durable, scratch-resistant, and can withstand heavy foot traffic. They are also easy to clean, water-resistant, and do not warp or swell in humid Indian climates, making them far more practical than actual hardwood flooring for commercial spaces.

What size of wood look floor tile works best for a cafe or restaurant interior?

For cafes and restaurants, larger plank-style tiles such as 600x1200 mm or 800x1600 mm are very popular as they create a seamless, spacious look with fewer grout lines. Smaller 200x1200 mm or 300x900 mm plank tiles also work well for a more traditional wood-floor feel. The right size depends on your space — larger tiles suit open dining areas while narrower planks add character to cosy cafe corners.

How do I maintain wood look floor tiles in a cafe or restaurant setting?

Wood look floor tiles are very low maintenance, which is ideal for busy cafes and restaurants. Simply sweep or vacuum daily to remove dust and food particles, then mop with a mild floor cleaner and water. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive scrubbers as they can dull the tile surface over time. Unlike real wood, these tiles do not need polishing, waxing, or sealing, saving you time and maintenance costs in the long run.
