WHAT ARE CLAY JAALIS OR TERRACOTTA JAALI BLOCKS?
Clay jaali, also called terracotta jaali, is patterned block of 8 inches * 8 inches made 100% naturally made from red clay. It comes in beautiful floral patterns, geometric lines, and squares. Clay Jaalis not only makes the space look cozy and earthy but also has practical advantages. These blocks balance the impact of sunlight and provide ventilation for outdoor patios and breezeways. They are energy-efficient, economical, and environmentally friendly green products. They can serve as a design accent in hip restaurants, or more recently in your neighbor’s elevation!
WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF TERRACOTTA JAALIS?
Made from clay (mitti), terracotta jaali is one of the most sustainable building materials. The simple process of manufacturing jaalis is not harmful to nature. We should take every possible step to make our home environment-friendly.
Terracotta jaali helps to filter the sunlight by avoiding the home from direct sunlight and letting in the natural light. This keeps the home warm and well-lit. In extreme heat, it protects the building from direct heat while in winter it lets in much-needed sunlight.
When installed in exteriors the design and material of clay jaali lets in the fresh air in the house. This improves the air quality in the house and keeps it well-ventilated.
- Cooling effect
Clay is well known for its cooling feature. The jaali partition traps the heat coming from outside and keeps the house cool. It keeps the temperature maintained in both, the summer and winter seasons.
WHERE CAN TERRACOTTA JAALI BLOCKS BE INSTALLED?
You will be awestruck by the ways our blocks separate and define space. They also protect from the sun and allow for ventilation. A block wall can also provide privacy.
A Terracotta Jaali wall can transform your outdoor spaces. However, you can also use a block wall inside to decorate indoor spaces. Use it as a focal point in your entry, partition wall, or as a bar face.
Jaalis can be used within the home to divide rooms, such as the one between the dining room and the drawing room. They may also be utilized to lend a rustic touch to the decor of kitchens and rooms.
While outside, it may be set on a balcony to let in the fresh air and filtered sunshine. Clay jaalis are also ideal for stairway railings, giving them an exquisite appearance.
HOW TO INSTALL TERRACOTTA JAALI BLOCKS?
The first method is very simple like installing bricks using cement mortar or tile adhesive (MYK Laticrete 335)
If the span and height of the building are more you can make a stainless still grid the size of a jaali and place a jaali inside that.
